Bridgend - South Wales - UK

This web-site was set up in February 2003 to enable me to share with you a large collection of photographs of the Bridgend area. On this site you will find pictures and information on a variety of subjects relating to the pictorial history of Bridgend and its surrounding towns and villages

Over the years I have taken around 6000 negatives and 2000 slides dating from the early 1970s to the late 1990s and latterly using a digital camera. In addition there is a large quantity of inherited negatives dating from the early 1900s to the 1960s. Included are also a number of photographs from other sources, post cards, school photos etc. Of this large collection less than 5% is of Bridgend and the surrounding area.

Generally, all photographs will be credited to a photographer or source. I have included images in all good faith, but if you believe a picture should be excluded or is incorrectly captioned or credited do please contact me. No photographs on this site have been copied from published sources (with a few minor exceptions duly credited). If some of the photos on this site look familiar to you, it's probably because a number of my pictures have appeared in local photographic history publications.

The site interface has been kept simple deliberately. There is nothing more annoying than waiting an eternity for pages to open only to discover it was not worth the wait! We want you to enjoy your visit and to return again in the future.

To navigate the site click on any of the blue or links; this will take you to a subject page. On some pages a few of the photographs will enlarge by clicking on them. The links will change colour when you have visited that page.

We hope you enjoy your visit and will bookmark this page to visit us again.

Feedback on this site welcome:
