| Parade in Caroline Street - possibly late 1940s - Early 1950s |
![]() |
Two recently discovered photographs of a carnival parade in the late 1940s or early 1950s. The evidence of flags across the street and a Union Jack on the lorry in the lower photograph would suggest Coronation Year as a likely date for these photographs but other family pictures on the same roll of film would indicate an earlier date. The photographs were taken by Mr A.J. Stokes who would have been standing in the doorway of his Shop, Stokes & Sons, in Caroline Street. The negatives were on a roll of 127 size film and would have been taken with a Purma camera which was made in Wales. |
