Fire at Tythegston Quarry

Recently re-discovered, a set of photographs, long forgotten, of a fire at the tyre dump at Tythegston Quarry one Sunday evening in April 1972. The smoke could be seen as far away as Cardiff.

The site is now completely in-filled with household waste as it was Ogwr Borough Council's rubbish dump for many years.
