1974 Bridgend Carnival & Steam Fayre

A Health & Safety nightmare, just look how close that whipping drive belt is to the boys' heads! Platform shoes and flared trousers date the period of this photograph - no trainers in sight. The three boys in the centre probably belong to one of the local scout groups as the garter tabs would seem to indicate. One of them is sensibly in wellingtons, the other two in extremely mud encrusted T-bar sandals. The boy on the right is wearing a quilted anorak, very popular in the early 1970s. (Yeuk!)
