Picketston Steam Rally 1973


The Welsh Steam Engine Society held their first (and only) rally at Picketson, St.Athan on 21st & 22nd July 1973. Ten steam engines were in attendance along with a number of cars, lorries, tractors, motor bikes and stationary engines. There were also a number of Fair Organs in attendance. Profits from the event were to go to four local charities. Programmes cost just 10p.

"The Chough", a small Garrett showman's engine built in 1919, brought to the show from Cornwall.
