1975 Cowbridge Carnival



In the 1970s the annual Cowbridge Carnival was an event not to be missed. The parade commenced in Broadway and then via the traffic lights proceeded down Eastgate, and High Street before turning right down Eagle Lane and into Cooper's Field.
The parade commencing at Broadway. The walking exhibits preceeding the lorry floats. This tableau is entitled "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Sailor".  
One of the popular 1970s all-girls marching bands about to enter High Street. A carnival float depicting a scene from Charles Dickens' "Oliver Twist". The film "Oliver" was very popular at this time.
A Chinese Dragon walking tableau.    A carnival float entered by Llangan School is parked-up in Cooper's Field.
At Cooper's Field we see some of the walking entries lined up ready for judging.
